Would you like to get your hands on the wiring and electronic systems for an entire aircraft? Could you look at a complex wiring diagram and apply it to the real aircraft standing in front of you?

If you could, then you might like to be an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer in Avionics. You will be working right there in the hangars on the computer controls, display information and timing circuits of aircraft. You will be analyzing electronic and electro mechanical systems, testing them and tracking down faults.

You will be working in a highly skilled and dedicated team. It will be your job to look at the big picture, to look at the overall systems on the aircraft and make decisions.

If you later choose to become a LAME, you will continue on to do external CASA Basic exams and gain further practical experience to get your license.
If you want to work for a major Airline, you will also do extra study to become an expert on 1 particular aircraft.
