Are you a good communicator? Do you have good design skills? Do you want to be the one who interprets the complaints of the maintenance crew and gets a solution from the manufacturers?

You will be gathering information on the electrical, electronic and electro mechanical systems of aircraft and making a diagnosis based on your findings. You will be more analytical and less "hands on" than the avionics mechanics that you liaise with, but have a solid technical knowledge behind you.

You'll be writing detailed reports on equipment problems and coming up with strategies to make effective changes.

If you work for the Australian Defence Forces you could be involved in getting design and repair schemes into place. In General Aviation, your could be involved in designing field modifications to parts.
