Do you like the challenge of complex problem solving? Do you have a
good brain for analysis and faultfinding?
If you do, then you could be an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. You will
be working on the aircraft right there in the hangars, finding faults
and interpreting pilot’s reports. You will be removing mechanical system
components from the aircraft, testing them and troubleshooting faults.
Working in a dedicated and highly skilled team, it will be your job
to look at the big picture, to look at the overall systems on the aircraft
and participate in making repairs and replacements.
If you later choose to become a LAME, you will continue to study and
gain further practical experience to get your license. If you want to
work for a major Airline, you will also do extra training to become
an expert on one particular aircraft.
