You will use your people skills to liaise between the maintenance crews
and manufacturers, interpret their problems and explain them in words
that both sides can understand.
You will liaise with aircraft manufacturers and talk over solutions
with their engineers. You will be actively involved in design problems
and will work closely with the mechanics to find effective solutions.
Your job will be less “hands on” than the structural maintenance crew,
but you could be involved in assessing physical damage to an aircraft
fuselage, reconfiguring a galley arrangement or modifying structural
systems.
You’ll be writing detailed reports on structural problems and coming
up with strategies to make effective modifications. If you like diagnosis,
are design-oriented and can show initiative, then this job could be
very rewarding.
